When is the best time to schedule maternity photos?
I recommend scheduling maternity sessions between 28–34 weeks, when your bump is beautifully visible while you’re still comfortable moving around.
When should I book my newborn session?
Newborn sessions are best scheduled during pregnancy to guarantee availability.
We then finalize the exact date once your baby arrives. Sessions typically take place within the first 2–3 weeks after birth.
Can my partner or children join my maternity session?
Absolutely! Every family’s story looks different, and your maternity session should reflect yours.
Your collection is based on the amount of time, variety, and storytelling you would like captured. The Signature and Luxe experiences provide additional time for more intentional couple and family portraits, while every session is designed to celebrate this special season.
What should my family wear?
We have maternity + newborn session style guides that contains tons of information and will help you get a better idea of what color scheme/tones to dress the rest of your family in.
Where will the session take place?
The best part about choosing SSP is that we have our very own studio space. Everything you need for your session + say good bye to annoying additional studio rental fees!
The studio is located at 591 Cross St. Ithaca, OH 45304
We also love traveling to client homes for your comfort + hospital for fresh 48 sessions.
Do you have a client closet?
Yes! Our client closet is available for both mother to be + your newest addition to the family.
We have a variety of gowns for mama, wrap sets and props for baby so you don't have to worry about trying to decide what outfits to buy and be able to fully enjoy this season of life.
How long are newborn sessions?
Newborn sessions are intentionally relaxed and baby-led. While every baby is different, most newborn sessions typically last approximately 1.5–3 hours depending on your selected collection, baby's needs, feeding breaks, soothing, and the variety of images we are creating.
My goal is never to rush your baby. We will take the time needed to keep your little one comfortable while capturing these once-in-a-lifetime moments.
Do you offer a package discount if we book both maternity and newborn sessions?
Yes! When you book both maternity + newborn sessions together we offer a bundled pricing option as a thank you for documenting both chapters with us.
